Cookie Policy
This page describes the cookies and similar technologies used by the FaceUp Studio website (faceup.studio) and within the FaceUp Studio mobile application.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on your device to remember information across visits. "Similar technologies" includes web storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), pixel tags, and mobile-app SDK identifiers used for similar purposes.
2. Cookies on this website
We deliberately keep this site lightweight. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioural-tracking cookies, or session-replay tools. The only cookies/storage in use are:
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Cookieless privacy-friendly analytics (aggregate page views, no personal data). | Session |
| Functional (localStorage) | Remembering your selected language, dark/light preference where supported. | Until you clear browser data |
Because we do not place advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies, this site does not require a "cookie consent" banner under the EU ePrivacy Directive or the UK PECR. If we add such cookies in the future, we will update this page and present an opt-in banner.
3. Identifiers in the mobile app
The FaceUp Studio iOS app does not use browser cookies (iOS apps do not have a cookie jar). It does use service-scoped identifiers and SDK tokens, all of which are described in our Privacy Policy:
- Firebase Installation ID — anonymous device-scoped identifier for crash reporting and analytics. Resets when you uninstall the app.
- Apple IDFA (advertising identifier) — only collected if you opt in via the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt. Used for marketing attribution via AppsFlyer.
- APNs / FCM device token — only if you grant push notification permission.
- Subscription receipt token — used to verify entitlement state.
4. Your choices
On the website, you can clear or block storage at any time via your browser's settings. Doing so will not break any feature; the most you'll lose is your selected language preference between sessions.
In the mobile app:
- Marketing tracking (IDFA): controlled via the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change your decision at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS.
- Push notifications: Settings → Notifications → FaceUp Studio.
- Analytics opt-out: in the app, Settings → Privacy → "Send anonymous diagnostics" toggle.
5. Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies or technologies we use, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where the change is material, notify you on this page or in-app.
